Aquaman Complete Aquarium Services was founded by myself, Ritchie Newell in 2017. We are a small family run business specialising in aquarium design, aquascaping, installation and maintenance. We offer an experienced, professional service, and are DBS checked and insured for your peace of mind. My own expertise is in Tropical freshwater aquariums, aquascaping and design. For saltwater aquariums we work closely with marine specialist colleagues; and have also built excellent relationships with UK based bespoke aquarium manufacturers. This enables us to offer customers a full range of quality aquarium services. We cover a wide area of the UK, with the majority of work being carried out in South Wales and the West.
Aquatics have been a passion for over 30 years, from admiration for my grandfathers’ aquarium, to gaining experience in many species of fish over the years. It had always been a dream to turn my hobby into a business, and 3 years ago, upon discovering a local business was seeking help with their aquarium my wife and I decided to take the leap and turn the dream into reality. Our aim was to make owning a beautiful aquarium accessible to everyone. Providing a piece of living art in your home or business, and an opportunity for customers to destress from hectic lives. Over the last 3 years we have been steadily gaining a range of private clients and commercial customers from Dental surgeries to Residential Homes and Hospitals. I have also gained sponsorship and support from several fantastic brands, Prodibio, Aquaflora, MaxLite Life Aqua, CO2 Art and Eheim.
My other enthusiasm is Aquascaping. My background in horticulture and landscape design has given me a fantastic grounding in knowledge of design elements with hardscape and live plants. I take my inspiration from the late Takashi Amano (The Godfather of Modern Aquascaping) from Japan, and from the natural world around me. Being able to provide customers with a beautiful piece of natural art is both an honour and a privilege. I am proud to have recently been ranked 6th in the UK 2020 in the International Aquatic Plants layout contest (IAPLC).
